Elite troops from Somalia’s Danab Special Forces 16th Brigade have graduated at Baledogle Airbase in Lower Shabelle, adding another trained formation to the Somali National Army as the country continues its campaign against the Al-Shabaab terror group.
The passing-out ceremony was witnessed by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, alongside Defence Minister Ahmed Moallim Fiqi and Somali National Army commander Brigadier General Ibrahim Mohamed Mohamud and US Special trainers who usually train Danab Commandos.
The graduation highlights Somalia’s continued efforts to strengthen the training, readiness and operational capabilities of its elite forces.
Danab is one of the Somalia’s Special forces who conduct counterterrorism operations against Al shabab.
