Kenya to evacuate 400,000 citizens in Middle East

Share

Kenya’s former Attorney General and Democratic Party leader Justin Muturi has called on the government to evacuate Kenyans stranded in the Middle East “without delay.”

Muturi took to his X account, stating that images of families fleeing violence, including Kenyans working and studying abroad, are “heartbreaking,” and insisted that protecting citizens overseas is a constitutional duty, not a favor.

The plea comes as tensions rise across the region following intensified hostilities, prompting other nations to begin evacuating their citizens.

Meanwhile, the Kenyan government has issued a high‑alert advisory to the more than 400,000 Kenyans living and working in the Middle East.

Nairobi says it is in constant communication with diplomatic missions as fears grow over the escalating conflict.
