Kenya’s Ruto calls emergency meeting to EAC leaders

Kenyan President William Ruto called for an emergency summit of East African Community leaders to address a growing financial crisis within the bloc.

The March 7 meeting will mark the first formal session of the East African Community’s top organ in over a year.

The eight members bloc is struggling to cover it’s running costs.

Some countries failed to pay membership fees and yearly quato.

Kenya,Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, South Sudan, Rwanda, DRC and Somalia current members as Somalia is the newest to join the bloc.
