The Commander of the Somali National Army Land Forces, Brigadier General Sahal Abdullahi Omar, today received the Army Chief of Staff of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), Major General Vincent Nyakarundi, at Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu.
Major General Nyakarundi is in Mogadishu to participate in the 35th Session of the Chiefs of Defence Forces and Ministers of Defence of the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) Member States, which is being hosted by the Federal Republic of Somalia.
The sessions will focus on strengthening regional security cooperation and enhancing the collective role of the EASF in peacekeeping and regional stability.
Rwanda isn’t member of AUSSOMÂ mission in Somalia but his visit regards Eastern African stand by forces which both Somalia and Rwanda are members.
