Fulfilling a promise made by the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Somali National Army, Brigadier General Sahal Abdullahi Omar wedding expenses funds were handed over today to five soldiers belonging to the Gorgor elite commando forces, specifically from the 171st Battalion, 17th Brigade, 1st Division of the Gorgor Commandos.
​This step is part of the promise previously made by the Commander to the soldiers, demonstrating support and care provided to members of the Somali National Army.
​The soldiers who received these funds were given financial support to prepare for their wedding ceremonies, which is part of encouraging and considering the troops who sacrifice their lives for the defense of the country and the protection of the Somali people’s security.
​This measure also highlights the importance of caring for the military and fulfilling promises made to them, in order to strengthen the morale, confidence, and connection between the leadership and the troops.
