Somalia–Kenya Flights Suspended for 3rd Consecutive Days.

Share

Air travel between Somalia and Kenya has been disrupted for the 3rd consecutive day, leaving hundreds of passengers, including senior officials of the Federal Government of Somalia, stranded in Mogadishu and Nairobi.

Somali airlines frequently operate through Nairobi, but flights have not arrived from Kenya since yesterday. The disruption has reportedly been linked, in part, to industrial action by staff at Nairobi’s airport.

The suspension has affected a large number of Somali travelers who regularly use Nairobi as a major transit and business hub.

Many are now facing additional costs, including expensive visa fees, while waiting for flights to resume.

The cause and duration of the disruption have yet to be officially confirmed, leaving passengers uncertain about when normal air services between the two countries will resume.
