The Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Somalia has expressed the UK’s concern about the e-Visa dispute, which led to the system being hacked.
Ambassador Charles has urged the leaders of Mogadishu and Hargeisa to engage in sincere dialogue to resolve this dispute, noting that the UK will play a significant role in this matter.
As we have stated before, we are concerned about the data breach because personal information has spread on social media and other media outlets,’ said Ambassador Charles.
He added, I believe that dialogue and mutual understanding between Mogadishu and Hargeisa are important for the e-Visa issue, peace, and generally as well.
The Ambassador avoided stating that the implementation of the e-Visa system is based on political issues, as Somaliland previously said, describing it as pressure from Mogadishu on Hargeisa.
