As Syrians today mark first year anniversary of Asad regime fall, Syrian president asks his people to believe him.
Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa during his speech at the Umayyad Mosque:
O Syrians, obey me as long as I obey Allah in your affairs.
By Allah, no one, no matter how powerful or influential, will be able to stand in our way.
No obstacle will stop us. Together, we will face all challenges, God willing.
We ask God to protect this country, help us serve and build it, and assist us in serving the Syrian people, God willing.
From north to south, east to west, God willing, we will restore Syria as a strong nation, rebuild it worthy of its past and present, honor its heritage, rebuild it in obedience to God, support the oppressed, and ensure justice among the people. Said Al sharaa.
Bashar Al Asad and his family ruled Syria 54 years before he fled to Russia last year after Syrian opposition groups captured most of the country as on 8 December 2024 they sized Damascus.
