A fierce, three-pronged battle between Al-Shabaab and the Somali Federal Government forces took place between Leego and Yaaqbariweyne.
Officials from the Federal Government of Somalia said more than sixty terrorists killed.
​According to our information, the AS group launched a strong attack on a military base recently established by the SFG in the Iidow Jalaad area of the Lower Shabelle region, following the Govement’s Banooda operation to recapture Buurhakaba district.
​Security officials confirmed that troops were being assembled there who were planned to advance towards Buurhakaba, which the government intends to retake.
​According to the reports, AS launched three separate attacks on the bases of the forces that had suffered setbacks in the recent fighting in the Leego area.
