Share

Fifty Jubaland Security Forces (JSF) officers on Wednesday graduated from a seven-week VIP Protection & Protocol Course in Kismayo conducted by instructors from AUSSOM and JSF.

The training, which covered weapons handling, tactical combat casualty care, foot security formations, hostage awareness, and ambush operations, was aimed at strengthening close-protection and tactical capabilities in the region.

AUSSOM Sector 2 Commander Brigadier Edward Banda and Jubaland Minister of Security Maj. Gen. Yusuf Hussein Osman commended graduates and the joint KDF–JSF instructors, emphasising the training’s role in transitioning security responsibilities to Somali forces.

The initiative underscores the strong AUSSOM-KDF-JSF cooperation in support of AUSSOM’s mandate.
