the SRCC and Head of AUSSOM, Amb. El Hadji Ibrahima Diene, met with Somalia’s Minister of Defence, Hon. Ahmed Fiqi, in Mogadishu, to discuss how to reinforce their strong partnership in support of Somali-led peace and security.
The meeting discussed recent developments related to the Somali-led security, the best way forward and joint operations against Al-Shabaab and other illegal armed groups.
Both principals reiterated their commitment to better coordination, joint planning and efficient combined operations.
The meeting was attended by Deputy SRCC Amb. Mouktar Osman Kaire, AUSSOM Sector 1 Commander, Brig. Gen. Jackson Kayanja and Acting Head of the Protection, Human Rights and Gender Unit, Dr. Omar Abdulle Alasow.
