AUSSOM Sector 3 Commander, Brig. Gen. Teklu Hurisa Janka, welcomed South West State President, Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed “Laftagareen”, at the Sector HQ in Baidoa, where 449 South West State Special Police Force (SWSPF) personnel are undergoing specialised training.
The four-month programme, conducted by AUSSOM, aims to enhance force’s operational effectiveness and professionalism as part of efforts to strengthen Somalia’s security institutions.
President Laftagareen urged the officers to demonstrate dedication, discipline, and resilience during training, emphasising that the skills acquired will improve their ability to protect communities and counter Al-Shabaab threats.
The President also commended AUSSOM troops for their support and mentorship, recognising the Mission’s critical role in preparing Somali forces to progressively assume full security responsibility.
