Nine Somali MPs representing Somalia in the East African Legislative Assembly are being sworn in today in Tanzania.
The swearing-in of the MPs is occurring while a legal challenge against their election process remains open at the East African Court of Justice.
The final hearing of the case is scheduled for March 19, as previously announced by the Court.
The court told Somalia’s Federal Government to be present at the hearing panel, if it isn’t come court said it will proceed the case and announce final decision.
All Nine MPs are now in Arusha Tanzania East African Community Headquarter, and waiting to be sworn in.
Recent meeting between head of states agreed that every member of the bloc pay salaries of its representatives MPs.
