The Federal Government of Somalia, in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), successfully repatriated 152 Somali nationals from Libya.
The returnees, mostly young individuals, arrived in Mogadishu.
Some of them reported severe conditions and abuses during their detention in Libya, including being held in detention centers where they were mistreated and instances where they were captured at sea, with extortion of money.
The Somali government and IOM expressed gratitude for their support in enabling the safe return of their mother land.
Recent years IOM and FGS were busy to repatriate several hundreds of Somali Youths in Libya,India and Seychelles.
