A U.S.-funded nonprofit, SpiritAmerica, announced the opening of a Somaliland–Puntland Fusion Center in Hargeisa, describing it as a mechanism for real-time information sharing and security coordination between Somaliland and Puntland.
According to the announcement, the center focuses on maritime threats, terrorism, and broader regional security challenges.
The development comes as international attention on the Gulf of Aden and Red Sea security environment has intensified, particularly amid concerns over militant threats and maritime instability.
The United States has also recently increased security engagement with both Somaliland and Puntland separately.
The so called Spirit of America supports US troops and diplomats around the world, established after 9/11 to spread American values as its profile says.
In the context of its activities in Hargaisa and Garowe of States of Somaliland and Puntland respectively is new American initiative to intervene Somalia’s Affairs.
