The Federal Government of Somalia appointed jim’ale Jama Takar as Somalia’s National Army 54th division Commander which operates in Puntland state of Somalia.
​This is the first time the Federal Government of Somalia has appointed a Divisional Commander in Puntland since the establishment of the Third Republic of Somalia.
the appointment came after the government completed all necessary military operational procedures and established the commands for the subordinate brigades and battalions.
After this appointment only 26 division remains which operates in Hargeisa, Somaliland secessionist region.
Somali Military has seven divisions from South to North before Military regime collapsed in 1991.
The seven divisions of Somalia’s National Army are; 12 April division which mostly operates Around Mogadishu and Lower Shabelle, 43th division in Jubaland, 60th division in Southwest State, 27th division in Hirshabelle, 21st division in Galmudug, 54th division in Puntland and 26th division in Somaliland.
Recently the Federal Government of Somalia said its considering to secure from South to North including Hargeisa and Berbera after recent Israel aggression.
